Sister cities of Vejle

Vejle (Danish pronunciation: [ˈʋɑɪ̯lə]) is a town in Denmark, in the southeast of the Jutland Peninsula at the head of Vejle Fjord, where the Vejle and Grejs Rivers and their valleys converge. It is the site of the councils of Vejle Municipality (kommune) and the Region of Southern Denmark. The city itself has a population of 52,449 (1 January 2013), making it the ninth largest city in Denmark, and the Municipality has a population of 108,021 (2012).

Vejle Municipality is part of the East Jutland metropolitan area with some 1.2 million inhabitants. The city is also part of an informal region called the Trekantområde (Triangle Area), which consists of Vejle and the neighbouring cities of Kolding and Fredericia.

Vejle is most known for its forested hills, fjord, harbour, shopping, pedestrian mall, and iconic windmill.
