Thurles (/ˈθɜrlɛs/ or local /ˈtɜrləs/; Irish: Durlas or Durlas Éile, meaning "strong fort of Éile") is the second-largest town in North Tipperary, Ireland. It is located in the civil parish of the same name in the barony of Eliogarty and in ecclesiastical parish of Thurles. The cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly is located in the town.
