Sister cities of Tønsberg
Tønsberg is a municipality in Vestfold county, southern Norway, located around 102 km (63.38 mi) south-east of Oslo. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Tønsberg. The municipality has a population of 41,239 and covers and area of 107 km2 (41 sq mi).
Tønsberg is generally regarded as the oldest town in Norway. Tønsberg was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The rural municipality of Sem was merged into the municipality of Tønsberg on 1 January 1988.
