Mumbles is a district of Swansea, Wales located on the south east corner of the unitary authority area. It is a designated local government community made up of the electoral wards of Mayals, Newton, Oystermouth and West Cross. Mumbles has its own elected community council consisting of eighteen councillors. At the 2001 census the population was 16,774. The district is named after the headland of Mumbles which is located on the southeast corner of the district.
