Bourcefranc-le-Chapus is a commune in the Charente-Maritimedepartment in the Poitou-Charentesregion in southwestern France. Bourcefranc-le-Chapus is a major oyster farming port. Fort Louvois is a fortification built by Vauban on the Chapus islet in front of the town.
